Hiatus: I dream of Paris

source: google

I tried to get a blogpost in before this one but Blogger has been down as many of you know. Since its up now I'm going to squeeze this in. I'm off for my graduation trip. I'll be gone for 3 weeks to Europe. So there won't be any posts. I'll see you all when I get back :) I'll be updating twitter frequently, so go ahead & follow if you like.

Shining Like The Sun at The Trumpet Call

Excuse the 'screw face' in the first picture, the sun was out! I don't know about you but I struggle to find jumpsuits that fit my body well. I'm not proportionate at all. Small Torso/Long Legs. I love this one, it's safe to say it may become my summer uniform. Now its time to get back to packing!

Sunday Snapshot 15.

one. This is Sunday swag, super laid back. Wearing a vintage basketball jersey, my seeing eye glasses, and a hoodie. I actually love the jersey, it is a Vintage Michael Jordan Team USA jersey. I may style it for an outfit post, in my head its pretty epic.

two. I changed up the positioning of my room which is why you can now see my ancient TV. My desk is closer to the winder to catch more natural light.

three. I leave the country for 3 weeks on Saturday. So there will be a brief hiatus on the blog.

four. I can never thank you guys enough for all the comments, and e-mails, and tweets :) You're all fab! Thanks for reading and following. xo

Hair Diaries: Protein & Moisture Balance

The Hairy Truth

To keep hair healthy it is essential to maintain a moisture and protein balance. Sounds a bit odd, I know. Each strand of hair is composed of protein bundles which can be broken and manipulated through chemical treatments such as relaxers or simply straightening or curling your hair. Lack of protein creates breakage but so does excessive protein. Hair also needs moisture to stay healthy and just like protein levels, excessive moisture can also cause breakage. Healthy hair has a balance of both moisture and protein.
Without getting scientific read on...

Hair Me Out

To have healthy hair your strands need to be replenished with protein. To balance out protein your tresses also need moisture to prevent dryness.

To add protein or moisture back into your hair you can use a protein or moisturizing conditioner, shampoo, moisturizer or spray-leave-in. Some of my favorite products include:

Protein: Motions CPR Treatment Conditioner, Aphogee Keratin 2 Minute Reconstructor Treatment, Aphogee Keratin & Green Tea Reconstructurizer Spray
Moisture: Aussie 3-Minute Miracle Conditioner, Hairtrition Color Protect Leave-In, One 'N Only Argan Oil Restorative Mask, Curl Junkie Beauticurls Leave-in Hair Conditioner

TIP: Hair with proper protein levels maintain moisture levels better, which = BALANCE :)

But you ask, HOW do you know whether you need a protein or moisture treatment. If you are experience breakage majority of the time protein is needed. To be more accurate, conduct a strand test on wet hair.
When you hair is wet, take a shedded strand from the root and pull on it from both ends.
1) If the hair breaks immediately and is usually dry and brittle when not wet, you need a moisture treatment.
2) If your hair stretches and breaks, or stretches excessively you need a protein treatment.

note: You hair should have some elasticity, but should not stay stretched out when pulled on, it should revert.

How does you hair feel today, do you need moisture or protein? Leave me any questions below!

Sunday Snapshot 14.

one. Don't even ask me what is going on with this pose, I'm unsure myself.

two. The Royal Wedding madness is dying down & I'm pretty happy. Though the wedding, the dress, and everything in between was beautiful, the constant hype was getting too much. Congrats to the newlyweds & I'm excited to see what Harry pulls in when its his turn.

three. The weather has been rainy and miserable, I'm hoping May brings new weather.

four. I've started packing for my trip and even though I'm excited, I'm very nervous. why? I can't quite put my finger on it just yet...

five. Have a great week guys!
